The goals of the Society are as follows:
- To contribute to the general health and welfare of the state of South Carolina by educating the people of the state regarding the qualifications and functions of dentists and dentists/physicians who have limited their practice to oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- To promote and encourage the advancement of the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- To encourage the members to discharge their civic and professional responsibilities to the community.
- To provide among its members, opportunities for social and professional community.
